Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX - Two Monitors in One

Saturday, January 31, 2009

By Matt Ryan

Dual monitoring is a very efficient way for individuals to get their work done. Whatever you may use the two monitors for, it allows you to separate applications for your convenience and ease of use. This concept has been around for over a decade and manufacturers are just now coming up with solutions that provide the same efficiency in a more spacious design.

Samsung is known for their high quality and variety of monitors. They have recently added, to their already popular product line, a brand new concept - a dual monitor setup in one. This system consists of a 22-inch and 7-inch monitor that takes up the space of only one 22" unit. This new concept is to provide the same efficiency that two full sized monitors offer. The idea behind it is to use the 7-inch monitor for secondary applications like instant messaging, and the 22-inch monitor for your primary applications.

These monitors, with their shiny black coating, and beveled edges, will add a bit of elegance to any setting. The 22" monitor has a response time of 5ms, contrast ration of 1000:1, and a resolution of 1680 x 1050. All of which is pretty standard for monitors today. To connect the 22" to your computer, you will need to connect not only via the DVI, HDMI, or VGA port, but with the USB 2.0 port as well.

The secondary monitor, 7-inch, was intentionally designed as such. With a resolution of 800 x 480, response time of 30ms, and contrast ratio of 400:1, this monitor is best used with smaller applications like instant messaging or video conferencing.

The smaller monitor can be attached to the right or left hand side of the 22" monitor, or even on the top. Attach your 7-inch monitor via an arm that pivots and swivels. Meaning you can rotate the secondary monitor to nearly any position you desire. Additionally, the 7" monitor can be adjusted to feature either landscape or portrait layout.

The dual monitoring experience, that the SyncMaster 2263DX offers, is phenomenal. However, it does not stop with pure efficiency and spaciousness. The smaller monitor can actually be used as a secondary portable monitor for a laptop, or even a standalone unit on your desk. You do not have to use it as an attachment to the 22-inch monitor that it comes with.

With the integration of a webcam, speakers, and microphone, the Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX can also be used as a telecommunication platform. There is no need to install additional hardware of software; it is ready to be used out-of-the-box. (The 7-inch monitor is great for the video portion of web conferencing.)

For around $550 you can purchase one of these new SyncMaster 2263DXs. If you have priced monitors, you know that this is a bit of a steep price for a 22-inch monitor. You could easily pick up two separate full sized monitors for the same price.

The bottom line is whether you are looking for space saver technology or budget friendly answers. If you have the space, purchasing two monitors is obviously the way to go. If your desk space is slim, you may just have to spend the extra cash. If you are into toys, and just need to have the latest and greatest, the Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX is a must have. - 20764

Efficiency and Convenience in One - Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX

By Matt Ryan

Dual monitoring is a very efficient way for individuals to get their work done. Whatever you may use the two monitors for, it allows you to separate applications for your convenience and ease of use. This concept has been around for over a decade and manufacturers are just now coming up with solutions that provide the same efficiency in a more spacious design.

Samsung has recently released the SyncMaster 2263DX, which just might solve some of the special issues of dual monitoring. This system is a combination of a 22" and 7" monitor. The 7-inch monitor actually attaches to the 22" monitor. This gives consumers two monitors that only take up the space of one, with the added bonus of using the small unit for secondary applications only (applications like web browsing, video, or instant messaging).

The primary monitor, 22-inch, has a resolution of 1680 x 1050, a response time of 5mx, and a contrast ration of 1000:1. If you know your monitors, you know this is an average monitor. The big difference with this monitor, from single units, is the fact that you must connect it with a USB port along with a DVI, HDMI, or VGA cable.

The 7" monitor is not quite as glorified as the 22", but that is to be expected considering it is considerably smaller. This monitor has a 400:1 contrast ration, 800 x 480 resolution, and a response time of 30ms. Considering major applications will not run on this monitor, these numbers should be sufficient.

The secondary monitor attaches nicely to the primary monitor, taking up much less real estate on your desk. It is attached via a pivotal arm that allows you to rotate the monitor to the perfect position. Additionally, the 7-inch monitor can be adjusted to either landscape or portrait layout, whichever you prefer.

An added bonus, to this setup, is the fact that the 7-inch monitor can be used as a standalone unit. This counteracts the purpose of the design, but could be useful in some situations. For example, it can be used as a secondary laptop monitor. For those who travel or need portability, this is a great-added benefit.

The Syncmaster 2263DX not only offers a functional dual monitoring setup for small offices, but provides a solid platform for teleconferencing as well. There is a 3.0M webcam, 1.5W down firing speakers, and a microphone - all built right into the monitor itself. The secondary monitor, the 7-inch one, is perfect for the video aspect of a teleconference.

This unit sells for around $550. While this is a bit pricey compared to a standard 22-inch monitor, there is additional functionality and convenience in the SyncMaster 2263DX.

It all comes down to what is most important to you. If you are considering dual monitoring then you obviously, need a solution that will help you to work more productively. The big question is space and budget. If you are willing to spend the extra dough, for the latest technology, then this is a great buy. If space is not an issue and budget is, then waiting for the price to drop might be the best alternative (or purchase two separate monitors). - 20764

Email Marketing and The Mailing List

Friday, January 30, 2009

By Sam Ernie Orion

We all know that every aspect of Internet marketing has a specific tool that helps to drive traffic and sales, and any email marketing campaign is no different. What you need to concentrate on here is developing and building up a mailing list since that is the real cornerstone of any successful email marketing campaign. Remember that there is no denying the power of a well run email marketing campaign and with that in mind there are specific things you can do to ensure that your mailing list is strong and healthy.

Offer Something For Free

One of the oldest advertising gimmicks in the book is still one of the more effective. Its important to keep in mind that you really want your mailing list to have opt in clients. Those are the people that are much more likely to read what youve got for them, and offering this kind of incentive will push them to sign up. One of the more effective techniques is to get a content writer to write a free ebook and then offer the use of it as a bonus for signing on.

Contests

People love to be included in interactive events. Sponsoring a contest on your site draws people in to sign. There is one drawback that youll need to be aware of if you travel this route. Not everyone who subscribes in this manner will eventually convert into a sale. Many of the people that you attract this way will be people habitually playing all the contests looking for the latest freebie.

Article Marketing

This is one of the most tried and tested methods used today. Hiring a ghost writer who will work for a reasonable fee all but ensures that youll get a series of professional articles submitted that cant help but eventually build your mailing list.

Directories

Again, this is one of the more traditional but effective methods used on the Internet. Business Directories are a great way of getting your name out there in cyberspace so that you can draw the kind of attention that will help to build your mailing list in the end.

Of course there are other methods that include ad swaps and hover ads, but the major point here is that you want to have people subscribe to your mailing list. That way, youll already have their willing attention and the buildup on your mailing list will result in a solid email marketing campaign. - 20764

Does Your Xbox 360 show the Red Ring of Death?

Thursday, January 29, 2009

By Howie Ja

Has the Xbox 360 Impeded You playing Your Top games because of the 3 red light Ring of Death?

Well, let me tell you that I have been there a few of times before. Once was only a mere 2 months after I bought the console.

That was fine this time because the Guarantee was still there, and I was handed a new one by the Game shop.

But if the Warranty is up, you have limited and Expensive options.

You can pay over $110 to Microsoft for a repair and you will have to wait 2-3 weeks for your console to come back.

Worse still is that I have heard a few reports that when the Xbox 360 consoles came back from Microsoft, the notorious 3 red lights of doom came back shortly afterwards.

What is the Exact cause of the Dreaded Three Red light problem?

The core cause of the console's Hardware failure lies in the Heat sink design, Primarily in the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).

The Optical disk drive is above the GPU, and because of this, the heat made by the GPU is far greater than the heat sink can take in order to maintain an optimal temperature throughout the console.

In the Xbox 360 Elite, Microsoft altered the design of the cooling system so that the Liquid cooling Extend's beyond the CPU to the GPU. This makes the console dissipate the Heat better and therefore does not overheat to the same extent.

So the bottom line is that constant exposure to high temperatures cause the motherboard to warp slightly which causes cracking of some of the solder joints on the board. That then triggers Hardware failure and the 3 red lights show up on your Xbox 360.

I searched far and wide for a 'free' solution (towel trick) but ended up creating irreparable damage to my 360 and I had to live with a permanent 3 red lights, or as i like to call it, the Devil's Halo!

I was looking for Valuable information. But if you want that, there has to be a Value on it. (i.e. you gotta pay for it), but if it saves your beloved Xbox, its going to save you a lot of money.

I found 10+ Xbox 360 guides on the web all claiming to get the fix done in 30 minutes, some say 1 hour and others say 2 hours.

While most of the guides good offer explanations and step by step instructions, there are some guides that give you summarized information of the top guides out there.

So being a lover of computer games and having an Electronic Engineering degree, I decided to take action and review the top 6 selling guides out there and I narrowed them down to a Top 3.

Visit the link below to reveal the top three available on the Web. - 20764

Which Are The Advantages of a Dedicated Server?

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

By Ricardo d Argence

Picture this: suppose you want a car, but, you don't have enough money to buy one for yourself, so you go in with four friends and everyone own a piece of the automobile. A schedule would be worked out and everyone would abide by the schedule of when they could use the car.

But, if you take a job where you need a car more often this might mean trouble. However you you can only use the car on limited days and at limited times, and the job wouldn't wait. Because the car is just as much of your friends car as yours, they are also entitled to use it. So, you miss out of the chance at employment since you aren't able to use the automobile whenever you need it.

The aforementioned resembles the contrast between a company utilizing a dedicated or a shared server. The definition of a dedicated server is one that is 'dedicated' or committed solely to serving your company.

Shared servers aren't for everyone! A small company may find them very useful; on the other hand, a large business may find them useless! A server can only take in and send out a certain amount of data per second, and it can only permit a finite amount of traffic in and out at any particular moment.

A good way of understanding bandwidth is the analogy of a toll collection booth. The toll booth allows a certain amount of traffic through at a time on a scheduled basis. This is great, until everyone needs to take the same highway out of town, and they all choose the toll road. Then it becomes a disaster as people wait for hours to get through the toll booth.

While you may wait for hours to get through a toll booth if you have to leave town and have no other way to do so, your customers will not wait hours to get to your website if you do not have enough bandwidth. Chances are, that if they try your website once and cannot get on, they will move on never to return again.

You work so hard trying to attract traffic to your website, it is a shame to throw that hard work out the window by not having enough bandwidth to accommodate all of your customers. This is the advantage of having a dedicated server, no longer do you have to share space or bandwidth with other businesses on the server. The server is dedicated only to your business, enabling traffic to flow quickly and smoothly.

Although a dedicated server costs more in monthly fees than a shared server, it may end up saving you money if you are losing customers due to the fact that the cannot get access to your website because your server cannot accommodate the traffic. If you have a large or growing business, a dedicated server is the only way to go. - 20764

Learning photoshop can be easy with David Peters

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

By David Peters

Everything you want to learn about Photoshop is grouped into sections that are easy to identify and access. Tutorials are continually being made simpler and clearer so that everyone is included. If however, you think that the tutorials are not enough there are DVD Rom tutorials that you can purchase and have to access anytime that you forget how to do something and need to refresh your memory. This DVDROM has 120mins (yup, 2 hours) of tutorials that will help you know how to use Photoshop even in your sleep. If you already have more than a basic knowledge of using Photoshop you can take a look at the Photoshop Secrets Special FX. It's a tutorial CDROM with 19 lessons that are packed into 2 hours that will teach you exactly how to use the special cutting edge effects that the advance Photoshop users' use.

New features in Photoshop CS2 make it easier to composite images in multiple layers. In earlier versions it was necessary to select a required layer in the Layers palette. But now it's possible to select multiple layers by using a marquee tool. The Show Transform Controls feature allows objects to be reshaped faster than ever before, and it works across multiple layers. Smart Guides is another innovation that makes it easier to align objects, even if they're on different layers. People who learn on their own sometimes discover the best way to do things, but usually they discover the wrong way to do things, which causes recurring frustration and limits their ability to go on learning new things. The time and money you invest today in your Photoshop training will reward you in ways that you can't even begin to imagine.

CROPPING. Select the "Crop" tool icon from your Tools bar, then drag it downward diagonally from the upper left corner to the bottom right corner. Release the mouse and then use it to manipulate the image size with the crop "handles." Hit "Enter" or "Return." RESIZING. Go to "Image" in your top menu, then choose "Image Size." Enter the dimensions you need and hit OK. (You can radically change the outer shape of the image by un clicking "Constrain Proportions" at the bottom of the page and entering different dimensions, then clicking OK.)

Strike a balance The Gradient Editor automatically places a midpoint between each colour stop to create a smooth linear blend between colors. You can tweak the effect of this blend by moving the midpoint to offset the mix between the colors. Using this technique you can create tight, dramatic blends between colors instead of gradual ones. The opacity stops run along the top of the preview bar. A black opacity stop indicates 100% solid, a white opacity stop indicates that that part of the gradient is 100% transparent and grey stops indicate values in between.

By dragging the bottom layer's white slider to the left, its lightest colors appear over the image. If you drag the "black" slider to the right, the darkest colors disappear and the image below appears. Dragging the underneath layer's black slider will bring out the darkest colors from the bottom image. To merge your blended layers when you're finished, so that any further styling will be applied equally, click Layer in your top menu, then either Merge Down, Merge Group, Merge Visible or Flatten Image. If you're the kind of person who loves to learn and master a subject of interest, try out all the various permutations available in your Layer Style box's Advanced Blending palette, under "knockout." Right away, you'll see how useful the three options in the Knockout menu itself can be: None, Shallow or Deep. Below that is a list of options providing even more precise blending for the perfectionist in you.

Hoping to get a jump on Google and other competitors, Adobe Systems plans to release a hosted version of its popular Photoshop image-editing application within six months, the company's chief executive said Tuesday. The online service is part of a larger move to introduce ad-supported online services to complement its existing products and broaden the company reach into the consumer market, Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen told CNET News.com. Chizen said Adobe laid the foundation for a hosted Photoshop product with Adobe Remix, a Web-based video-editing tool it offers through the Photo Bucket media-sharing site.

When you want to add an adjustment layer quickly, the best way to do it is to click on the shortcut option that is located at the foot of the Layers palette. You can also go to the Layer - New Adjustment Layer in the main menu. If you use the Lasso Tool when making a selection on your original layer, any adjustment layers you design will only affect the selected area. A mask protects the unselected parts of an image on each new adjustment layer. You can build your image adjustments effectively and slowly if you combine the effects of multiple adjustment layers. You also have the option of turning them off and on when you are ready to fine-tune the overall effect. Use the thumbnail icons to quickly identify your adjustment layers. These thumbnail icons are attached to the corresponding layer and they are labeled so you can see which layer applies which effect. - 20764

Your Guide To Copy Games for Xbox, Nintendo Wii and Playstation

Sunday, January 25, 2009

By Cam Gumble

If you're also an avid gamer, spending hours with your Xbox, Wii or Playstation, the chances are, you also want to know how to copy games. Well, you don't need to look any further because I'm going to tell you about a new way of copying games in no time at all.

As a gaming fanatic, the chances are you've either lost a game or two in the past, or had them so badly damaged that they could no longer be played and like all of us addicts, you had to replace them by going out and buying them again. Now however, that's no longer the only option you have, thanks to the arrival of game copying software.

Of course, in a moment of desperation, you've more than likely even tried to copy games using the software you use for making copies of your music. Unfortunately though, because of sophisticated copy protection, Wii, Xbox and Playstation games simply cannot be copied in this manner.

Essentially, this copy protection technology makes it impossible for your computer to read the game disk but as you may already have guessed, game copying software which is able to get past this barrier, is now available. Furthermore, the copies are reliable and they only take seconds to make.

Armed with this game copying software installed, making copies of any games is a total breeze. Simply insert the game disk you want to copy, either into your CD or DVD writer and then click copy, causing your computer to record an image of the disk. When you then insert a blank disk, the image is transferred to the disk in seconds. What else do you need to do? Absolutely nothing at all! You now have a reliable copy, unless of course, you want to add some finishing touches such as labels, etc. Most importantly of all, even a novice with hardly computer experience, can make copies in no time at all.

Keep in mind that we are not trying to endorse copying every single game you can get your hands on. It is completely legal to make backup copies of all your personal games, however you will run into copyright infringement problems if you start to copy games that do not belong to you.

With your newly acquired knowledge, you're more than likely eager to get your hands on this software but before you rush into anything, it's really worth your while to take a few points into consideration first. Any game copying software you want to buy should always include an instructional video, it should provide the buyer with customer support and of course, it should come with a full money-back guarantee. This should really be the minimum you're willing to accept because the game copying software currently rated as being number one, Game Copy Pro, even gives buyers free access to a monumental game download service. Here you will, with a few quick clicks, be able to download just about any title ever released, whether it's for Wii, Xbox or Playstation.

With so many gamers having discovered how to copy games, competition between software manufacturers has become increasingly ruthless, leaving gamers in a position where they are now able to get their hands on the No1 software for less than thirty dollars. Let's face it, as a gamer; you know only too well that this is less than the cost of a single game disk. - 20764

Use A Reverse Cell Phone Number Lookup To Trace Phone Calls

Saturday, January 24, 2009

By William Harris

Finding the owner of a cell phone number is not easy. What makes it so hard is that cell phone numbers can't be found in phonebooks or in online white pages. If you have tried this in the past then you know how hard it is. Because finding cell phone numbers are so difficult, a lot of people believe that they can not be traced.

A Reverse cell phone number lookup is a method to discover who has called and left a number, this method works unlike the way you would get the information from the phonebook.

If you wanted to do a reverse phone number lookup on a cell phones in the past it would have not been possible, unlike with land line phone numbers, the ability to do so on cell phones is new.

With a reverse cell phone number lookup service you are not forced to type in a name and then are handed the number. To do a reverse cell phone lookup you type in the number and then the data about the person who called is handed to you from a service that has a collection of cell phone and unlisted numbers.

The data is given to you right away and is presented in a uncomplicated way so that you have no problem reading it. You are probably wondering how this is done when you couldn't find the information anywhere on the internet. Cell phone companies have databases of cell phone numbers even though these numbers are not listed in phone books or in public records.

Companies that supply a reverse cell phone number lookup service buys admission to these databases and create their own collection with up to date information. The companies up date their database as new information is available. It is not possible for you to get access to the databases of the cell phone company and search them yourself. For a small fee you are able to search the database of the service and get a report on the phone number.

Usage of a reverse number lookup service like this means, that not for one minute more do you have to be in the position of picking up a phone call only to discover that it was a call you could have passed over. - 20764

What do You Need to Know before Hiring a Compu Repair Specialist

Friday, January 23, 2009

By Amy Nutt

Computers are great, but it can be frustrating when something goes wrong with them. When something goes wrong, that can be so frustrating because we all rely on our computers for pretty much everything we do. We rely on them for banking, shopping, and for communicating with our loved ones all over the world. But when it breaks, it is necessary to hire a computer or laptop repair specialist.

However, some issues don't always constitute a computer repair specialist. Those issues involve getting rid of viruses, spyware, or other types of malware. You can usually download a simple computer program to get rid of those issues. You don't have to pay $100 or more to a computer repair specialist to take care of the problem. The only time you should do that when it is malware-related is when you have lost files or other damage has been done to your computer.

When to hire a computer or laptop repair specialist

- Your computer gives you an error upon startup and will not let you access your operating system at all. If you are not aware of how to reformat the hard drive, then you may need a computer or laptop repair specialist to do it.

- Your computer will not turn on at all. This could signify an issue with the power supply. Unless you know how to install a new power supply, a professional needs to do it.

- If you are using all of your RAM with few processes running in the background, you may have a memory leak. You may need professional help with this as well.

- If anything happens with any of the hardware on your machine or the wireless network installation and you cannot rectify the issue on your own. Hardware can be somewhat tricky, especially if you have minimal experience with what makes the machine run.

- When the computer is under warranty, only certified technicians can take it apart and fix the problem. If you do it yourself, you may void the warranty. If it is under warranty, you can have the repair done for free.

- If you keep getting software errors and you can't make them stop, then you may need a specialist. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the program. If that doesn't work, that is indicative of a bigger problem.

There are so many issues that may occur with computers. A good rule of thumb is to not do anything to void the warranty and only seek assistance if the computer issue is something that you cannot take care of on your own. You might be quite surprised at some of the computer issues that come about that people can very easily fix, but they still pay hundreds of dollars to have a professional do it.

So the next time you have a computer issue and you're ready to throw your monitor out the window out of frustration, take a deep breath and know that there are solutions that can get you out of your predicament. If you can't do it on your own, simply hire a computer repair specialist. It usually doesn't take them too long to repair your computer either. Sometimes it just takes about an hour to get the job done. When it is done, you can take your computer home and enjoy your usual activities. You'll find that it isn't the end of the world when something goes wrong with your computerat least not anymore. - 20764

Use a Reverse Cell Phone Number Lookup to Catch Him Cheating!

Thursday, January 22, 2009

By George Birdshaw

Do you want to know who the woman is that is calling your man non stop? Do you think your man might be cheating and you want to know if he really is or not? When this is the case a reverse cell phone number lookup comes in very handy to catch the cheater in their tracks and find out who the little hussy is that has been helping him cheat.

You can get all the proof you need with a reverse cell number look up. It will be up to you to follow through and use the proof however you decide is best. Here is a plan to follow.

When you get an opportunity look into his phone at the most recent incoming and outgoing calls. Write down any of the cell phone numbers that have called him quite a bit. Don't be fooled by any numbers that are saved under a contact that has a guys name because this could just be a sneaky way to hide the number of the woman he is cheating with.

Another place to check is the text messages. Most phones only store up to about 100 of them, but you can still get a pretty good idea of what has been going on. This could give you an entire conversation between the two of them, which can lead you to believe one thing or another. It is very helpful to pinpoint who he is having an affair with.

Next, you need to go to a directory online for reverse cell phone number lookups. This will give you a search box that you can plug the number into and get a little bit of information for free. They will give you the carrier (i.e. Sprint, At&t, T-Mobile) and the state the phone is from. They will also give you options for much more information if you want it.

You can get the name of the owner of the phone, their billing address, home address, previous addresses, and more information if you really want it. This will not be free, but it is very inexpensive especially to find out how your man has been running around on you with. Plus getting the upper hand is very important.

You could have gone a different route and hopped in your car to follow him when he left, but this is risky. Getting a few cell phone numbers from his phone and using them to do reverse cell phone number lookups should not be that difficult. Plus it protects you incase he is not cheating because you will not get caught trying to catch him.

If he is cheating you can confront him and put your foot down. You can go after her as well if you want to, but it really is his stupid fault. It will make you feel better knowing that you have a very good reason to leave and find someone that will not cheat on you. - 20764

Motorcycle Club Mentality Versus The Biker Gang Mentality

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

By LJ James

I want to talk a little about the Brotherhood mentality versus the gang mentality in the Motorcycle Club world . Now for those of you who may be asking what is the difference? I will set up a scene to help give you an idea! At a small Bar a member of a Motorcycle Club walks in he sees four Bikers playing pool, He can tell they are a bit nervous, They see his patches and they know who he is with. Now how does he act? Does he walk over to the pool table knock the 8 ball in the pocket say games over and tell one of them to buy him a beer? Or does he walk over introduce himself and let them know when they are done shooting pool they are welcome to stop over at the bar have a beer and talk with him! One is the gang way of thinking the other is the Brotherhood way of thinking! I really don't think I need to tell you which is which!

Now one thing everyone needs to remember is all of the original Motorcycle Clubs Started out with the idea of being a tight nit group of Brothers and just about all of these Motorcycle Clubs got along. Don't forget many of the men who started the first MCs where returning home after serving their country during times of war. They were looking for that feeling of Brotherhood here at home that they had been left behind. These were good men seeking adventure, looking to ride their Motorcycles and have a good time with others like themselves. Today most Motorcycle Clubs have gone back to that way of Club thinking, There are very few Clubs left that still have the Gang Mentality that was seen mostly during the 70's threw 90's. During the late 90's things had just gotten too far out of hand and most Motorcycle Clubs began to realize the Gang Mentality was not the way it was meant to be and it was not the way they wanted it to be anymore, This was not what the Clubs were started for ! Many Clubs who had been friends were now fighting with each other. No one wanted to wear club support gear and things were just not fun anymore. These MC's had all started their Clubs with the same ideals and ways of thinking, How and why had they grown so far apart that they now hated each other!

Well the answer to how is during the 50's and 60's the golden age of the Brotherhood years of Motorcycling, The Motorcycle Clubs were really huge. During this great time many of the Biker Movies that came out showed Motorcycle Club Members as Bullies and Thugs. The Bikers in these movies would pick on those weaker then them, take over small towns and the Clubs in these Movies all fought each other just like the street gangs of the time! So of course over time many new Bikers came to believe that this was the way it was. So when New Clubs started this was how they would act and the Original Motorcycle Clubs now had members who where young kids looking to prove how tough they were by starting fights with each other. The Original Motorcycle Club Members had been threw real wars together and they were as hard as nails and had nothing to prove to no one! But many younger members felt that they had something to prove and would imitate the Biker Clubs from the Movies they had scene and soon it was Biker against Biker, Brother against Brother, MC against MC. Thus began the Dark age of the Motorcycle Gang Mentality years.

Now for the question Why did this Happen? Well When something Changes the way of thinking and being of Groups like the Motorcycle Clubs so far from their original ideals, You have to ask was it just an accident these movies did this? Or was there more to it? Was there a plan behind it? Is there someone or some group out there that would benefit from having these large groups of Motorcycle Clubs who are run in a very military fashion and are made up of many ex-Military Members fighting against each other? If these Clubs all got along and worked together the world could be a very Different place! The Motorcycle world certainly would be! Are there people out there who are afraid of this happening?

Today there are very few Clubs left that have the Gang Mentality. Most have gone back to the Brotherhood way and the word Gang in the Motorcycle Club world has become almost the equivalent of a racial slur. Now as Motorcycle Clubs are beginning to go back to the way it was at the start and trying to put the past behind them, I am noticing that there are more and more Biker movies and TV shows Coming out. Will these shows show MC's in a good way? Will they go out of their way to stir up the quarrels of the past? Will they show us as mindless Bullies much as the Movie Wild Hogs did? Most Important will we let them influence how we really are? Or have we learned from our past? If all continues to go well we could soon be making our way into the Second Golden age of Motorcycle Club Brotherhood back to where it all Started !!!

All Bikers need to ask themselves, Are you part of the Problem or part of the Solution?

Biker Lowdown Radio Show

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

By LJ James

I have been writing about the Biker Lifestyle for years as a freelance writer and I have also been DJing Bike events for many years. I knew I wanted to bring the two together and do a Biker Style radio show right from the beginning. I had spoken with local stations in my area about doing a Biker radio show and each time the radio station either wanted lots of money up front or they just wanted nothing to do with a Biker radio show. The Biker market is what they call a niche Market and stations want shows that will appeal to everyone.

I knew that the motorcycle market was going to be tough. If I was to use regular radio station I was going to only be able offer the show to local Bikers and it would be a show that was on only at a certain time every week, so if you missed the show well that's it you missed it. This is not what I really wanted.

I wanted a show where Bikers from all over the world could listen in and be part of it. Being We are Bikers and never know where we will be at any given time I also wanted the Bikers to be able to listen to the show on their time schedule. The answer I knew was the Internet. But how to do it? I had no Idea.

I didn't have the cash to start my own Internet radio station. So I started looking into existing Internet stations. Again the same problems everyone wanted money upfront and the shows would only be on at a certain time! I knew there was a way to make this work I just did not know what it was!

The answer came during the Summer of 2008 when a guy from Florida called the Paisan sent me an email saying he had read some of my articles and he would like to interview me on his Internet radio show called Sundays Sauce Pot. I called him and after speaking to him I agreed to be on the show.

The show I did with the Paisan and his partner Danny Dawg was unforgettable and I had a great time. I developed a friendship with Danny Dawg and the Paisan. When I told them how I wanted to do my own Show for years they where happy to explain how I could do a show like theirs. The show would go Live at 8pm on Wednesdays and could be listen to from the beginning any time a person went to the website from any computer world wide 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This was perfect it was everything I had been looking for over 10 years! With help I figured out how to work every thing and the Biker Lowdown Radio Show was born.

I had originally planned on waiting to start the show in January as I wanted to make sure everything was perfect! Then I remembered nothing in life is perfect and I just started the show as is. The response the show has received has been beyond anything I could have hoped for and has really been overwhelming!

The Biker Lowdown chat room gets busier every week and it lets listeners know they are really a part of the show! My goals for the show is to be entertaining and let all who Ride know what is going on in the Motorcycle world at the same time. I am also working on a much larger more inter active website and I am getting ready to start having T-Shirts, Bumper Stickers and so much more to give out to my listens at events! I invite you all to check out the show at BikerLowdown.com let me know what you think and what topics you would like to talk about !

Housemates Or Lovers?

Monday, January 19, 2009

By Karen Gosling

Are you living together like housemates? Feel taken for granted and not really in a loving relationship?

Deepest intimacy - Do you remember when you first got together with your partner, when you started your relationship and were "in love"? Do you remember what you used to talk about? You talked about everything, right? You couldn't get enough of each other.

You found time to be together whenever you could. Long into the night you would talk and share things, whether together or on the phone. You found you could talk about yourselves, past relationships, hope and dreams that you shared, personal disappointments, even your failures. You could talk about everything as you sensed that your partner was eager to know all there was about you. It felt safe to say anything because you partner loved you and did not judge you.

Shallower communication - Over time things changed. You fell out of love and it may have started like this: She mentions a topic of conversation and gets a negative response from him. This is not what she's used to. Once she gets a negative response a second time she decides not to mention that topic again. She is now more careful, choosing what to say and when, so as to avoid getting another negative response.

He starts to notice a difference in her and enquires, "Are you OK?" "Yes", she answers sharply. "Are you sure, you seem a bit different?" he persists. "Yes, I'm OK", she barks back. He also is a little taken aback by her negative response. From now on he also becomes selective about speaking, in case there is a negative response. And so begins a decrease of intimacy - of telling each other what is going on inside of head and heart - because now there is the risk of a negative response.

The bedroom - It's not long before problems develop in the bedroom with her harboring resentments against him. She is holding on to hurts from the past, prompted by his earlier negative responses. He feels confused and resentful as she distances herself physically from him and continues to snap and bicker. Her sarcasm really hurts sometimes, which of course it is meant to. They both begin to feel disconnected and not in the relationship as deeply as before.

He seeks sexual intimacy, wanting reassurance that she is still in relationship with him. But her unresponsiveness signals that the distance between them is real. Her need is to talk first about the way she is feeling before she can accept him physically. So her response is, "No, not tonight". After a few more "No, not tonight" answers he stops asking for sex, knowing he will be rejected. Once he stops signaling his interest for her physically, she feels even more rejected than before.

Housemates - Living as housemates means that there is no emotional intimacy. Conversation is maintained at a superficial level and you each wear a mask, disguising your true feelings by limiting discussion to 'safe' topics to do with the household or managing the children. She treads gently around him and he never gets to talk about what's going on in his head because he fears her reaction. They never have sex and so suspicion, petty arguments and irritability rises. There is a decrease in the level of trust. The Housemate syndrome has arrived! - 20764
